Fresno Salon Owner Warns Local Businesses After Imposter Delivery Driver Steals $6K in Merchandise
A Fresno salon owner is issuing a warning to local businesses after falling victim to a highly coordinated theft. A suspect disguised as a delivery driver entered the salon, navigated to inventory areas, and successfully stole high-end merchandise valued at approximately $6,000.
The theft occurred during normal operating hours when the salon was busy serving clients. The perpetrator, wearing clothing similar to a commercial courier and carrying a clipboard and delivery boxes, successfully bypassed standard employee attention. Under the guise of arranging a delivery, the suspect accessed the salon's storage area and walked out with boxes of premium beauty products unnoticed.
Warning Issued to Local Merchants
After discovering the missing stock and reviewing surveillance footage, the owner realized the delivery person was an imposter. The salon owner immediately notified the Fresno Police Department and shared the security footage online to warn other retail owners about the scheme. The thief targeted specific, high-value retail products that are easily resold online.
Local business groups are advising retail owners to establish strict validation protocols for deliveries, limit access to stockrooms, and train staff to confirm the identity of all service personnel. Fresno police are investigating the incident and seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect captured on the security cameras.
