Gainesville Police Search for Three Suspects Following Candy Store Burglary

GAINESVILLE, FL — The Gainesville Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying three suspects involved in a commercial burglary at a local candy store.

According to investigators, the break-in took place late at night when the establishment was closed. Security cameras inside the sweet shop captured three individuals wearing dark hoodies and face coverings forcing entry through a rear window. Once inside, the group targeted the cash register, successfully breaching the cash drawer, and also filled several bags with specialty confectionery items and store merchandise.

Store owners discovered the break-in the following morning and immediately reported the crime. "It's disheartening to see a small local business targeted like this," the shop manager stated, noting the property damage and the value of stolen goods.

Detectives have released surveillance clips and photos of the suspects in hopes that someone might recognize them. The suspects are described as follows:

• Suspect 1: Wearing a dark grey hoodie, black pants, and carrying a dark backpack.
• Suspect 2: Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a distinctive white logo on the sleeve, light-colored jeans, and red sneakers.
• Suspect 3: Wearing all-black clothing and gloves, carrying a crowbar.
