K-9 Unit Tracks and Apprehends Suspect Following Greenville Gas Station Robbery

GREENVILLE, SC — A fast-acting law enforcement response, bolstered by the deployment of a specialized K-9 unit, culminated in the successful capture of a suspect following an armed robbery at a local gas station on January 30, 2025.

According to police reports, officers responded immediately to an emergency call reporting a robbery in progress at a Greenville service station. The suspect had reportedly threatened employees and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash before patrol units arrived.

Due to the timing and circumstances of the escape, a K-9 officer and their canine partner were immediately deployed to track the suspect's scent trail from the perimeter of the business. The K-9 quickly established a track, leading officers through nearby terrain and successfully locating the suspect, who was hiding a short distance away.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and faces charges of armed robbery.
