Deputies Respond After Gunman Robs Walgreens in Hesperia

HESPERIA, CA — Law enforcement authorities are searching for an armed suspect who robbed a Walgreens pharmacy in Hesperia on Friday afternoon.

Deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff's Station responded to an emergency call reporting an armed robbery at the Walgreens location on Main Street and Escondido Avenue. According to preliminary reports, a male suspect entered the business, approached the pharmacy counter, and brandished a handgun while demanding prescription medication and cash.

Fearing for their safety, store employees complied with the suspect's demands. The gunman then fled the store on foot, heading in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash and pharmaceuticals. No employees or customers were injured during the encounter.

Deputies, along with a Sheriff's aviation unit, conducted an extensive search of the surrounding neighborhoods but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a male wearing dark clothing and a face covering.
