Woman Hospitalized After Defending Herself in Northeast Houston Armed Gas Station Robbery

NORTHEAST HOUSTON, Texas — An active search is underway for a suspect who shot a woman during an armed robbery attempt at a gas station convenience store on Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2025.

According to the Houston Police Department, the incident occurred at a local convenience store in the northeast area of the city. A male suspect entered the business displaying a firearm and demanded money or merchandise. During the confrontation, a female victim attempted to defend herself against the assailant. In response, the suspect discharged his weapon, striking the woman.

Emergency medical services arrived at the scene shortly after the shooting and transported the injured woman to a local area hospital for treatment. Investigators have not released updates regarding her current medical status, though she is expected to recover. The shooter immediately fled the scene and remains at large.
