Thieves Pepper Spray Clerk, Pry Open ATM in Northeast Houston Convenience Store

HOUSTON, Texas โ€” The Houston Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in identifying a group of thieves who pepper-sprayed a convenience store clerk during a robbery in northeast Houston.

Surveillance footage captured the moment the suspects entered the store and immediately targeted the on-duty clerk, disabling them with pepper spray. With the clerk incapacitated, the perpetrators turned their attention to the store's ATM, using heavy tools to pry the machine open and access the cash container inside. The suspects managed to escape before officers arrived.

Emergency medical personnel treated the clerk at the scene for exposure to the chemical irritant. Investigators are analyzing the security video to obtain clearer descriptions of the suspects and their getaway vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Houston Police Department's Robbery Division.
