HPD: Woman shot by man during attempted robbery at NW Houston convenience store

HOUSTON, Texas — A violent attempted robbery at a convenience store in Northwest Houston has left a woman injured. The Houston Police Department reported that the incident escalated quickly when the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot the victim during a confrontation.

Officers responded to the scene following emergency calls reporting shots fired at the commercial property. Upon arrival, police located the female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was immediately transported to a local hospital by emergency services. Authorities indicate that her injuries, while serious, are currently believed to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators are analyzing security camera footage from the store and surrounding businesses. The shooter fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement and remains at large. Police have described the suspect as a male and are asking for the public's assistance in identifying him.
