Smoothie shop owner reacts after sledgehammer heist in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas — A local business owner is speaking out after a brazen overnight burglary left her smoothie shop heavily damaged. Surveillance footage captured the moment a suspect used a sledgehammer to smash through the front glass door of the establishment.

Once inside, the perpetrator targeted the cash register, executing the heist within a matter of minutes. The owner expressed frustration over the incident, noting that the cost of repairing the structural damage and replacing the shattered glass far exceeds the amount of cash taken from the register.

"It’s heartbreaking to see the hard work you put in destroyed in seconds by someone with a sledgehammer," the owner shared, emphasizing the struggle local small businesses face in the wake of rising commercial property crimes.
