HPD Seeks Armed Suspects in Southwest Houston Smoke Shop Robbery
HOUSTON, Texas — The Houston Police Department's Robbery Division has released dramatic surveillance video of an armed robbery at a southwest Houston smoke shop in hopes that the public can help identify the suspects. The heist, which occurred on the afternoon of October 5, 2024, involved two armed suspects and a third person of interest.
According to police reports, the robbery took place at a smoke shop located on West Fuqua Street near Hiram Clarke Road. Two young men, estimated to be in their late teens or early 20s with thin builds, entered the store and immediately took control of the premises. Surveillance footage captured the suspects leaping over the retail counter and threatening the store clerk with firearms. One of the suspects issued a chilling warning to the employee, stating, “We ain't going to hurt nobody. We want money. But if you get in our way, somebody going to die.”
Prior to the robbery, a third individual, designated by police as a person of interest, entered the store, made a purchase, and was seen holding the door open while communicating with the suspects. The two robbers fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise. HPD is urging anyone with information about the suspectsโone of whom wore a “Pioneers” basketball hoodie, and the other a gray hoodieโto contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
