Store Clerk Shot Through Doorknob Hole During Southeast Houston Robbery

An unusual and dangerous armed robbery in southeast Houston has left a store clerk injured after a suspect fired a weapon through a hole in a door where a doorknob was missing.

The incident occurred when an armed individual entered the business with the intent to rob it. During the confrontation, the clerk attempted to seek safety behind a closed door. However, the suspect located the opening left by the missing doorknob and discharged a firearm directly through it, striking the employee inside.

Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported the clerk to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators from the Houston Police Department are reviewing security camera footage and collecting evidence from the premises. Authorities have launched a manhunt for the shooter, who fled the scene immediately after the incident, and are appealing to the community for any relevant information.
