Cactus Cove Burglary: Houston Bar Targeted Twice in a Week, Raising Security Fears
HOUSTON, Texas โ The management of Cactus Cove, a popular bar and restaurant in Houston, is voicing serious safety and security concerns after their venue was burglarized twice in the span of a single week. They fear that the criminal activity will continue unchecked until law enforcement makes arrests.
The repeat break-ins have resulted in damaged doors, shattered windows, and the theft of cash drawer contents and premium beverages. The quick succession of the crimes has left employees and management on edge, demanding a swifter police response to prevent future incidents.
Targeted Twice in Seven Days
According to Cactus Cove representatives, both break-ins occurred under similar circumstances, suggesting the thieves may be familiar with the bar's layout or are emboldened by the lack of immediate consequences.
"We are extremely concerned. If they can come back twice in one week and get away with it, what's to stop them from coming back a third or fourth time? We need these suspects caught before someone gets hurt," a manager shared.
Police Investigation Underway
Detectives with the Houston Police Department have gathered surveillance footage from both nights of the burglaries. Investigators are looking into whether these incidents are linked to a broader string of commercial break-ins targeting local bars and nightlife venues in the district.
The bar has since upgraded its physical security and alarms. Business owners in the area are being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious vehicles or activity late at night.
