Deputies Foil Large-Scale Theft Attempt at North Freeway Home Depot; Suspect Hung Le Arrested
HOUSTON, Texas โ A swift response by Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Deputies successfully thwarted a major theft attempt at a Home Depot store located along the North Freeway on May 18, 2025. The suspect, identified by authorities as Hung Le, was apprehended at the scene and faces felony theft charges.
Intercepted at the North Freeway Location
According to constable deputies, the incident occurred during regular store operating hours. Store loss prevention personnel observed Le attempting to bypass the cash registers with a substantial amount of high-value tools and construction materials. Loss prevention immediately contacted law enforcement, providing real-time updates on the suspect's movements.
Deputies patrolling the nearby North Freeway corridor arrived within minutes, intercepting Le as he attempted to load the stolen merchandise into a vehicle. The recovered items, valued at several thousand dollars, were returned to the store inventory.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Hung Le was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Harris County Jail. "Our deputies work closely with local businesses to deter organized retail crime. Thanks to the quick reporting by Home Depot staff, we were able to prevent this loss and arrest the individual responsible," Constable Mark Herman's office said in a public statement. Le's bond and court dates are currently pending.
