Houston Police Department officer run over by suspects accused of robbing CVS Pharmacy near Washington Corridor and Detering St.
HOUSTON, Texas — A Houston Police Department (HPD) officer was injured on Thursday, July 18, 2024, after responding to a reported robbery at a CVS Pharmacy located in the Washington Corridor area.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at the CVS pharmacy near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Detering Street. Officers received an emergency call regarding an active robbery in progress at the establishment. Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers encountered suspects fleeing the premises.
During the ensuing confrontation and attempts to apprehend the individuals, one HPD officer sustained injuries. The officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover. Police have taken several suspects into custody, who are now facing charges in connection with the armed robbery and the assault of a law enforcement officer.
