Houston Police Search for Suspect Who Pushed Wheelchair-Bound Man to the Ground and Robbed Him

HOUSTON, Texas — The Houston Police Department has released surveillance footage and is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a brutal robbery of a wheelchair-bound man.

According to investigators, the incident occurred in a neighborhood in Houston, where the victim was traveling along the sidewalk. The surveillance footage captured the moment an unidentified male suspect approached the victim from behind. Without provocation, the suspect grabbed the wheelchair and forcefully pushed the victim to the ground, causing him to strike the pavement.

While the victim lay helpless and injured on the ground, the assailant quickly searched the man's pockets, stealing his wallet, cell phone, and cash. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. Emergency medical services arrived shortly after to treat the victim's abrasions and minor injuries sustained during the fall.
