Stolen Vehicle Crashes Into South Indianapolis Pawn Shop During Attempted Burglary; IMPD Searching for 3 Suspects

INDIANAPOLIS โ€” The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is searching for three suspects who used a stolen car to smash into a pawn shop on the city's southside early Wednesday morning during a failed burglary attempt.

According to IMPD, officers responded to the scene on October 9, 2024, after receiving reports of a vehicle crashing into the storefront. Upon arrival, officers found a stolen passenger car lodged in the building's facade, but the suspects had already fled the scene before police could arrive.

Investigators believe the group intended to rob the business using the "smash-and-grab" technique. Detectives are reviewing security footage from the store and surrounding properties to identify the three individuals involved. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana.
