17-Year-Old Charged in Indianapolis Gas Station Robbery and Shooting

INDIANAPOLIS โ€” A 17-year-old has been formally charged following an attempted robbery that escalated into a shooting at an Indianapolis gas station, local police reported.

The incident occurred on November 28, 2024, when the suspect allegedly attempted to rob the service station. During the course of the confrontation, shots were fired, causing damage and panic, though no life-threatening injuries were immediately reported. Responding IMPD officers quickly secured the scene and took the suspect into custody shortly after the incident.

Due to the severity of the charges, which include armed robbery and carrying a handgun without a license, prosecutors are evaluating whether the juvenile will be tried as an adult. The investigation remains active as authorities seek additional details regarding the origin of the firearm used.
