West Indianapolis Laundromat Hit in Destructive ATM Smash-and-Grab Theft

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A local laundromat on the west side of Indianapolis suffered severe structural damage early Wednesday morning after thieves drove a vehicle directly through the building's storefront. The incident, described by the business owner as "insult on top of injury," occurred on June 11, 2025, during what police believe was a coordinated ATM smash-and-grab.

Surveillance footage released by the business owners captures a dark-colored vehicle accelerating through the glass facade, shattering the entryway and destroying interior equipment. Two suspects are then seen exiting the vehicle, quickly targetting the ATM inside the facility. After securing the cash machine, they loaded it into the vehicle and fled the scene before police could arrive.

The business owner expressed frustration over the extensive damage, noting that the repair costs will likely far exceed the value of the stolen ATM. Detectives from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are reviewing the surveillance footage and urging anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle to contact police immediately.
