Indianapolis Home Invasion Victim Shot and $46K in Goods Stolen After Social Media Post of Cash
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. โ A violent home invasion on the west side of Indianapolis resulted in one resident being shot and more than $46,000 worth of property stolen. The victim told investigators that a social media post showing cash may have attracted the intruders.
According to police, armed suspects forced their way into a home located on the city's west/northwest side. During the robbery, one occupant was shot and sustained injuries. The suspects proceeded to search the home, stealing a variety of high-value electronics, jewelry, and personal items estimated at over $46,000 before fleeing.
The shooting victim later stated to authorities that they had posted a picture showing a large amount of cash on social media shortly before the incident, which they believe tipped off the robbers. Law enforcement continues to warn residents about the security risks of sharing photos of cash, high-value assets, or location details online.
