Police Investigate Subway Restaurant Burglary in Indianapolis After Register and Coin Dispenser Stolen

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating a commercial burglary at an Indianapolis Subway restaurant after intruders made off with a cash register and a coin dispenser. The incident occurred during the overnight hours when the restaurant was closed to the public.

According to preliminary police reports, officers responded to a call regarding a break-in at the food establishment. Upon arrival, they discovered signs of forced entry. A search of the interior revealed that the thieves had targeted the point-of-sale area, removing the entire cash register drawer along with an automated coin dispenser unit. The exact amount of cash contained within the machines at the time of the theft has not yet been disclosed.
