Overnight Burglary Spree Hits Three Businesses on Indianapolis's North Side

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — A string of overnight burglaries has left local business owners along 86th Street on high alert, with police investigating three separate break-ins that occurred during the early morning hours.

According to reports from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), officers responded to multiple commercial alarms along the busy northern corridor on March 17, 2025. In each instance, investigators found evidence of forced entry, including shattered glass doors and damaged lock systems. The suspect or suspects managed to enter the premises and steal cash drawers, electronics, and miscellaneous merchandise before fleeing.

The affected businesses include three establishments located in close proximity along 86th Street. Detectives are reviewing surveillance camera footage from the businesses as well as neighboring shops in an effort to identify the individuals involved. Police believe that the break-ins are linked due to the similar methods used by the offenders.

Local business associations are urging owners to reinforce their entryways and ensure their security cameras are fully operational and well-positioned. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains active.
