Indianapolis Man Linked to Armed Robbery via GPS Tracker Arrested; Hidden Stash Found During Jail Search

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery after a tracking device embedded in the stolen items led law enforcement officers directly to his location. The subsequent arrest took an even more bizarre turn when jail staff discovered stolen currency hidden inside the suspect's rectum during a routine intake search.

The Investigation and Tracking

According to court documents released by local authorities, the investigation began immediately following reports of an armed robbery in the city. The suspect allegedly fled the scene with cash and other items, unaware that a GPS tracking device was hidden within the stolen property. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) used the live tracking coordinates to pinpoint the suspect's movements, eventually locating and arresting him without further incident.

A Surprising Discovery at the Jail
