Teens Charged in East Side Indianapolis Vape Shop Burglary After High-Speed Police Chase

INDIANAPOLIS — A group of teenagers faces felony charges following a break-in at a vape shop on the city's east side. The incident, which resulted in the theft of thousands of dollars in merchandise, culminated in a dangerous high-speed police pursuit through city streets before the suspects were ultimately apprehended.

East Side Burglary

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a security alarm at a local vape shop on the city's east side. Upon arrival, officers observed significant damage to the storefront, indicating forced entry. Store owners later confirmed that the thieves had targeted high-value vaping products and electronic devices, making off with merchandise valued at several thousand dollars.

High-Speed Pursuit and Arrests

Shortly after the break-in, responding officers spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspects' getaway car. When police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver accelerated, triggering a high-speed chase. The pursuit wound through multiple neighborhoods, posing a significant risk to public safety before officers successfully deployed stop sticks or otherwise halted the vehicle.
