Three Teenagers Detained After Attempted Burglary at North Indianapolis Gun Store

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers have detained three juveniles in connection with an attempted burglary at a firearm retailer on the city's north side.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 11, 2024. According to authorities, police responded to a security alarm triggered at the commercial property. Upon arrival, officers observed damage to the store's entry points, indicating a forced entry attempt. The suspects fled the scene on foot before gaining entry to the main sales floor, failing to secure any weapons or ammunition from the premises.

A swift response from K9 units and patrol officers led to the containment of the perimeter and the subsequent arrest of three teenagers hiding nearby. Investigators are looking into whether the suspects are connected to other recent gun store break-ins in the metropolitan area.
