Two Apprehended by IMPD After Armed Robbery Near Downtown Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — Two suspects are in custody following an armed robbery that took place near downtown Indianapolis on Thursday afternoon, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced.

The robbery occurred in a neighborhood adjacent to the downtown district, where the suspects reportedly held a victim at gunpoint and demanded personal belongings. Immediately after the robbery, the suspects fled the scene on foot. The victim contacted emergency services, providing a detailed description of the perpetrators and their direction of flight.

Officers patrolling the nearby area spotted two individuals matching the description. After a brief pursuit, police detained both suspects without further incident. Officers recovered a firearm and the victim's stolen property during the arrests.

The suspects have been charged with armed robbery and carrying a handgun without a license. IMPD credited the quick reporting by the victim and the swift response of the patrol officers for the rapid resolution of the incident.
