Irvine Police Thwart High-Value Burglary at Luxury Handbag Store

IRVINE, CA — Authorities have thwarted a massive commercial burglary attempt at a luxury handbag store in Irvine, preventing the loss of approximately $100,000 in high-end designer merchandise.

The Irvine Police Department responded to an active alarm and calls regarding suspicious individuals at a premium retail boutique. Officers arrived at the scene within minutes, interrupting the suspects as they attempted to breach the store and load dozens of designer handbags into a getaway vehicle.

Upon seeing the arriving police units, the suspects fled, prompting a brief pursuit. Police were able to detain multiple individuals involved in the attempted heist. The merchandise, which included high-value designer goods valued at over $100,000, was successfully recovered at the scene and returned to the store.
