Two Suspects Apprehended Following Residential Break-In Attempt in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, IL โ€” Two suspects have been taken into custody by Jacksonville Police following a reported residential break-in attempt at a local home. The swift response of law enforcement prevented the suspects from fully entering or fleeing the property.

According to police reports, officers responded to a residential neighborhood in Jacksonville, Illinois, after receiving a call about a break-in in progress. Upon arrival, officers encountered two individuals attempting to gain entry into the home. Both suspects were immediately detained and arrested without incident.

The homeowners, who were inside at the time of the incident, were not harmed. Investigators are reviewing local surveillance footage and interviewing neighbors to gather more details. The suspects are currently being held at the county jail facing charges related to attempted burglary and trespass.
