Clerk and Suspect Critically Injured in Shootout During Jacksonville Attempted Robbery

JACKSONVILLE, Florida โ€” A shootout at a local business on Sunday night has left two people critically injured, including a store clerk and the suspected robber.

The incident occurred on February 1, 2026, when an armed suspect entered the business with the intention of conducting a robbery. During the confrontation, gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and the clerk. Both individuals sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the encounter.

Emergency medical personnel arrived quickly at the scene and transported both the clerk and the suspect to a nearby hospital, where both remain in critical condition. Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigators have cordoned off the area to collect evidence and interview witnesses. The identities of the clerk and the suspect have not yet been released as the investigation continues.
