Joliet Woman Assaulted and Robbed by Purse Snatcher at Jewel-Osco on Jefferson Street

JOLIET, IL — A shopping trip turned into a traumatic experience for a local woman who was pushed to the ground and robbed outside the Jewel-Osco supermarket on Jefferson Street. The Joliet Police Department is actively searching for the suspect involved in this violent purse snatching.

The incident occurred in the store's busy parking lot. Police reports state that the victim was loading groceries into her vehicle when an unidentified male approached her from behind. The suspect grabbed the victim's purse, and when she attempted to hold onto her property, he forcibly shoved her to the asphalt, breaking her grip and fleeing the scene with the bag.
