Joliet Police Solve Bam's Laundry Burglary After Thief Steals 400 Quarters

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department has solved a commercial burglary at Bam's Laundry after identifying and arresting a suspect accused of stealing a large quantity of coins, according to police reports.

The burglary, which occurred in early April 2026, targeted the coin machines inside the laundromat. Investigators revealed that the perpetrator broke into the facility and stole at least 400 quarters ($100 in face value) from the laundry equipment, causing significant damage to the machines in the process.

Following a prompt investigation that included reviewing video security footage from the establishment, detectives identified the suspect. The individual was taken into custody and faces charges of commercial burglary and criminal damage to property.
