Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes' Luxury Estate Burglarized
BELTON, MO — In what appears to be part of a coordinated crime wave targeting professional athletes, the Belton-area estate of Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes was burglarized in early October 2024. The incident, which occurred on October 6, has prompted a joint investigation involving local police and federal law enforcement agencies.
According to police reports, authorities were dispatched to Mahomes' multi-million dollar estate in Loch Lloyd, a private, gated community just south of Kansas City, Missouri, after security systems flagged a potential breach. The intruders gained entry to the main residence, though investigators have remained tight-lipped about the exact items stolen or the total value of property taken.
The incident occurred just hours before a separate burglary at the home of Mahomes' teammate, Travis Kelce. Crime analysts and investigators suspect the break-ins are linked to a sophisticated national burglary ring that actively tracks the travel plans and schedules of high-net-worth individuals, particularly professional athletes. Similar incidents have recently occurred in other states, including a burglary at the Wisconsin home of NBA star Bobby Portis around the same time.
"We are working closely with the Cass County Sheriff's Office and federal partners to identify the suspects involved," a representative for local law enforcement stated. Security measures have since been significantly upgraded at the residences of Chiefs players as the investigation continues.
