Kennewick Police Apprehend Suspect Inside Local Business During Burglary

A burglary suspect was caught in the act and arrested early Thursday morning thanks to a swift response by the Kennewick Police Department. The incident occurred at a commercial establishment in the central business corridor, highlighting the effectiveness of local security systems and rapid law enforcement dispatch.

According to officials, officers responded to a business alarm activation shortly after 4:00 AM. Upon arrival, responding units noticed signs of forced entry at the rear of the property. Officers quickly established containment around the building to prevent any escape attempt.

Upon entering the premises, K-9 units and patrol officers located a male suspect hiding inside the structure. The individual was taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently booked into the Benton County Jail on charges of commercial burglary and possession of burglary tools. The business owner was notified of the break-in, and police confirmed that no merchandise appeared to have been successfully removed from the property.
