KILLEEN, Texas โ Killeen Police have announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with an armed robbery that took place on January 17, 2024, following a high-stakes investigation involving a suspect who brandished two handguns during the crime.
Armed Encounter on Fort Hood Street
The incident began when the suspect, later identified by police as Shaquille Ahmad Willis, entered a commercial business in the 900 block of S. Fort Hood Street wearing a distinctive "Rick and Morty" shirt. Willis allegedly brandished two handguns, threatening employees and demanding cash, cigarettes, and liquor. After securing the stolen goods in a blue bag, the suspect fled on foot.
Responding officers spotted the suspect nearby, prompting a brief foot pursuit. During the chase, the suspect discarded the bag and the two firearms along his path before being tackled and arrested by officers. Both handguns were recovered by police along the pursuit route.
Arrest and Charges
Willis has been charged with aggravated robbery and is currently held in custody. Subsequent updates in January 2026 confirmed that another co-defendant was arrested in connection with the January 17th armed robbery, concluding a thorough two-year police operation to bring all parties to justice.
