Lafayette Police arrest juveniles linked to multiple smoke shop burglaries

LAFAYETTE, La. — The Lafayette Police Department has taken multiple juveniles into custody following a string of break-ins at local smoke shops, authorities announced on Thursday.

The arrests follow a targeted investigation into a series of commercial burglaries that occurred over recent weeks. According to police reports, the suspects repeatedly targeted smoke shops in the Lafayette area, causing significant property damage and stealing merchandise.

String of Targeted Break-Ins

Investigators began tracking the pattern after several local business owners reported late-night forced entries. Surveillance footage from the affected establishments helped detectives identify a group of juvenile suspects who appeared to be operating together.
