High-Speed Chase of Costa Mesa Burglary Suspects Ends in Lakewood Arrests

A group of burglary suspects led authorities on a dramatic, high-speed chase that spanned several Southern California municipalities, beginning in Costa Mesa and ultimately ending in Lakewood. The incident began when Costa Mesa police officers responded to an active commercial burglary and spotted the suspects fleeing the scene in a getaway vehicle.

The suspects refused to pull over, initiating a reckless pursuit that traversed multiple freeways and busy local streets. Throughout the chase, the fleeing vehicle reached dangerous speeds, prompting air support from law enforcement helicopters to track the vehicle's movements when ground units had to fall back for public safety reasons.

The pursuit finally concluded in Lakewood, where the suspects abandoned their disabled vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.
