Overnight Street Takeovers Lead to Looting at Multiple Lakewood and Bellflower Businesses

LAKEWOOD, CA — Authorities are investigating a chaotic series of overnight street takeovers in Bellflower and Lakewood that culminated in the looting of at least seven local businesses. The incidents, which occurred overnight leading into June 28, 2025, involved large crowds blocking intersections to perform dangerous vehicular stunts, followed by coordinated break-ins and theft.

According to local law enforcement and news reports, the street takeovers began late in the evening, drawing dozens of spectators and multiple vehicles spinning donuts in active intersections. While deputies worked to disperse the crowds, groups of individuals broke off to target nearby commercial properties. In total, at least seven businesses across the Bellflower and Lakewood areas were broken into and looted of their merchandise, leaving store owners to deal with broken windows, damaged property, and stolen inventory.

Police have not yet announced any arrests in connection with the looting or the illegal street takeovers, and investigations remain active as investigators review surveillance footage from the affected businesses.
