Southwest Las Vegas Attempted Robbery Triggers Police Search for Suspect

LAS VEGAS, NV — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers are searching for a suspect following an attempted robbery in the southwest region of the valley on January 22, 2026.

The incident occurred during the afternoon hours when a suspect entered a commercial establishment with the intent to commit a robbery. Despite the suspect's demands, the robbery was not completed, and the individual fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement officers. Fortunately, no employees or patrons were injured during the encounter, though the situation caused significant alarm.

Southwest area command officers set up a perimeter and searched the surrounding neighborhoods, but no suspects were located. Investigators are now reviewing high-definition security camera footage from the business to obtain a clearer description of the suspect's physical appearance and clothing.

Police ask anyone who was in the southwest Las Vegas area at the time and noticed suspicious individuals or vehicles to contact the LVMPD Robbery Section or submit a tip through Crime Stoppers of Nevada.
