SUV Crashes into Downtown Las Vegas Vintage Store; Intoxicated Driver Flees Scene

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Business owners in Downtown Las Vegas are calling for increased security after an SUV crashed through the storefront of a vintage clothing shop, and the driver subsequently fled the scene on foot.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025, near East Charleston Boulevard and South Commerce Street. Surveillance video captured a champagne-colored Chevrolet Tahoe driving directly through the glass storefront, causing extensive structural damage. The footage shows the driver, who was wearing a red hat, climbing out of the passenger side door of the vehicle and walking away from the crash site accompanied by a witness.

The store's owner, Linda Ruiz, reviewed the surveillance footage and noted that the driver appeared to be holding an alcoholic beverage at the time of the crash, suggesting intoxication played a role. Ruiz expressed frustration and heartbreak over the incident, stating that her business had already been targeted by burglars multiple times in the past. The driver abandoned the SUV at the scene and remains unidentified.

A police report has been filed, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to investigate the hit-and-run crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact local authorities.
