Search for Burglar of Summerlin Home Continues as Neighbors' Concerns Grow
LAS VEGAS, NV โ A peaceful Summerlin neighborhood remains on edge as the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) continues its search for a suspect involved in a brazen daytime residential burglary. The incident, which occurred in late December, has sparked widespread concern among local residents who are calling for increased security and swift action from law enforcement.
Daylight Break-In Shock Neighbors
According to police reports, the burglary occurred on December 29, 2025, at approximately 8:35 a.m. at a home located in the 10500 block of Hope Mills Drive. Investigators state that the suspect was observed walking around the quiet neighborhood before jumping over a backyard wall adjacent to Garden Mist Drive. The individual then forced entry into the home by shattering a rear sliding glass door. After ransacking the house, the suspect exited through the same broken door and fled the area before police arrived.
Neighbors Express Deepening Concerns
In the weeks following the break-in, residents in the affluent Summerlin community have voiced growing anxiety about the boldness of the crime. Many homeowners note that the area is typically quiet and safe, making a forced entry in broad daylight particularly unsettling. Residents have reported upgrading their home surveillance systems and holding community meetings to discuss neighborhood watch initiatives. "We choose to live in Summerlin because it feels safe, but a daylight break-in like this changes how you look at your own backyard," one local neighbor shared, reflecting the community's collective unease.
Police Description and Appeal for Public Help
The LVMPD Summerlin Area Command Investigative Team is actively pursuing leads and has released a description of the suspect. The individual is described as a male between 20 and 25 years of age. During the burglary, he was captured on home security footage wearing a light gray beanie, a distinctive green camouflage hoodie, black pants, and black shoes. Authorities are urging anyone with information, surveillance footage, or tips to contact the Summerlin Area Command at 702-828-9457, or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
