A Young Child's Call Alerts Authorities
The tragedy unfolded on the morning of January 28, 2026, in the 8600 block of Rowland Bluff Avenue, near South Durango Drive and West Mountains Edge Parkway. At approximately 7:20 a.m., a 7-year-old boy called emergency operators, reporting that his mother had been badly hurt. First responders arrived quickly and discovered two victims inside the residence, both suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as 31-year-old Briana Flowers and 31-year-old Anfernee Pollard, a local musician known artistically as "Big Bang." Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Grief and Demands for Answers
The double homicide has left the local community and the victims' families devastated. Briana Flowers is remembered by friends and loved ones as a vibrant, positive, and deeply devoted mother whose life revolved around her young son. Her best friend, Shatiera Davis, and other family members have expressed immense grief and rising frustration over the lack of immediate arrests in the case. Reports indicate that Flowers had previously complained of harassment, assault, and stalking by an ex-boyfriend in the days leading up to her death, raising questions about potential domestic violence connections.
Ongoing Investigation and Police Appeal
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Section has taken over the investigation. While detectives believe the shooting was an isolated incident, no suspects have been officially named or taken into custody as of late spring. Police are actively seeking information from the public. Anyone with details regarding the events on Rowland Bluff Avenue is urged to contact the LVMPD Homicide Section or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
