Las Vegas Comic Book Shop Targeted Twice in Three Weeks by Thieves

LAS VEGAS, NV โ€” A Las Vegas comic book specialty store is facing a steep recovery effort after being targeted by smash-and-grab burglars twice in a span of just three weeks. The back-to-back incidents at MaximuM Comics have left staff members frustrated and security experts urging businesses to strengthen physical storefront protections.

The commercial burglaries followed a similar pattern, with perpetrators shattering the front glass entry doors during overnight hours. Once inside the Northwest Las Vegas location, the thieves targeted cash registers and valuable collector items, including graded comic books. Property damage from the broken entryways added significantly to the business losses.

A Costly Spree for Small Retailer

The repeat nature of the break-ins highlight the ongoing challenges faced by local niche retailers. Staff noted that recovering from one burglary is difficult enough, but having the repaired store hit again just weeks later is incredibly discouraging.

"It's a major setback for our team and our loyal customers. We are working hard to secure the shop and ensure we can continue to be a safe space for the local collector community," a store representative explained.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is analyzing surveillance footage from both incidents to determine if the same individuals are responsible for both break-ins. Business owners in the retail plaza are also collaborating to share security camera feeds and monitor the area more closely during night hours.
