Olympic Figure Skating Legend Surya Bonaly's Medals Stolen in Las Vegas Home Burglary

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Olympic figure skating icon Surya Bonaly is pleading for the return of her irreplaceable career medals after burglars targeted her Las Vegas residence. The break-in occurred while Bonaly was out of town caring for her cancer-stricken mother, adding personal tragedy to the violation of her home.

Bonaly, a three-time World silver medalist and nine-time French national champion famous for her boundary-pushing athleticism and iconic backflips, discovered the burglary upon returning to her house. The thieves ransacked the property, stealing several of her most treasured medals along with other personal property.

'These medals represent my life's work, dedication, and the history of figure skating,' Bonaly shared in an emotional appeal. 'They have no financial value to anyone else, but they mean everything to me.' The athletic community and fans have rallied around Bonaly, spreading the word in hopes of locating the stolen honors.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is actively investigating the break-in. Detectives are reviewing area surveillance footage and checking online marketplaces and local pawn shops for any signs of the distinctive medals. Anyone with information regarding the burglary or the location of the stolen medals is urged to contact the authorities immediately.
