Las Vegas Security Guard Hospitalized After Being Shot in the Head Following Robbery

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — A security officer is in critical condition and fighting for their life in a local hospital after being shot in the head during a violent armed robbery at a Las Vegas business. The shooting has prompted an intensive manhunt across the valley as law enforcement officers search for the armed and dangerous suspects.

The incident occurred late in the evening when two armed individuals entered the business, brandishing firearms and demanding cash from employees. As the suspects completed the robbery and prepared to flee, they were confronted by the security guard who was on duty at the front entrance. Without warning, one of the suspects fired a single shot, striking the guard in the head, before both suspects fled the scene in a waiting getaway car.

First responders arrived quickly at the scene and administered life-saving treatment before transporting the critically injured guard to the trauma unit at University Medical Center, where they underwent emergency surgery. The identity of the guard has not yet been released to the public out of respect for the family's privacy.

Detectives are actively gathering surveillance video from nearby businesses and appealing to any witnesses who may have seen a suspicious vehicle in the area around the time of the robbery.
