Lexington Tabletop Game Shop Shattered by Weekend Smash-and-Grab Burglary

LEXINGTON, KY โ€” A popular Lexington tabletop gaming and hobby shop was targeted in a destructive smash-and-grab burglary over the weekend, prompting the business owners to appeal to the public and the local gaming community for help in identifying the perpetrators. The incident occurred during the late-night hours between Saturday, December 13, and Sunday, December 14, 2025.

The shop owners arrived at the store to find the front glass entrance completely shattered and the interior in disarray. Surveillance footage from the shop showed that the break-in occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. The burglars, wearing masks and gloves, breached the storefront and went directly to specific display cases containing high-value collectible trading cards, rare miniature games, and vintage gaming memorabilia. Within minutes, the suspects loaded the stolen items into large bags and fled the scene before police could respond.

โ€œWe are absolutely devastated by this event,โ€ one of the store's co-owners expressed. โ€œIt is clear they knew exactly what they were looking for, bypassing common products and targeting our most valuable inventory. This is a massive blow to our business, especially during the critical holiday season. We are pleading with anyone who might have seen something suspicious or who sees these unique items being sold online to contact us or the police.โ€

The Lexington Police Department is currently investigating the burglary and reviewing security footage from the shop and neighboring businesses. The local gaming community has already begun to rally behind the store, sharing lists of the stolen collectible items across social media platforms to help prevent their unauthorized resale.

Anyone with information regarding the break-in, suspicious vehicles in the area, or the attempted resale of high-value gaming collectibles is asked to contact the Lexington Police Department at (859) 258-3600. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at (859) 253-2020.
