Lincoln Smoke Shops Targeted in Wave of Robberies and Break-Ins; Multiple Suspects Facing Charges

LINCOLN, Nebraska — Local authorities are raising alarms after a series of targeted criminal incidents at smoke shops across the Lincoln area, spanning armed robbery to commercial burglary. Police records reveal at least three distinct incidents that highlight an ongoing security concern for local shop owners.

The most severe incident occurred in late October 2025, when a smoke shop employee in southeast Lincoln was held at gunpoint. According to police reports, a male suspect entered the business, brandished a firearm, and demanded cash and merchandise before fleeing the scene. The employee was shaken but physically unharmed, and authorities continue to search for the armed suspect.

In a separate incident in December 2025, court affidavits revealed details of a break-in at a downtown Lincoln smoke shop. In that case, a man gained forced entry into the establishment and stole "several" vape products. Police were able to identify and arrest the suspect shortly after the incident, recovering a portion of the stolen inventory.

Additionally, in July 2025, another suspect was arrested following a failed break-in attempt at a local smoke shop. Responding officers caught the individual in the process of trying to force entry into the building. Business owners are being urged to upgrade security cameras and alarm systems to deter future incidents as police step up patrols around commercial districts.
