Robbery Suspect Apprehended After Crashing Getaway Car Into Tree Following Russ's Market Theft

LINCOLN, Nebraska โ€” A robbery suspect is in police custody after a high-stakes getaway ended in a vehicle collision against a tree in central Lincoln, according to court documents.

The incident began in mid-April 2025, when police received reports of a robbery at a local Russ's Market grocery store. The suspect allegedly confronted store staff and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and goods, escaping in a nearby vehicle.

Shortly after the robbery, officers spotted the suspect's vehicle fleeing the area. In an attempt to evade police, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed directly into a tree. The suspect was arrested at the scene of the crash, evaluated for minor injuries, and booked into the Lancaster County Jail. He faces multiple felony charges, including robbery, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, and reckless driving.
