Suspect Fires Shotgun at Vehicle Before Burglary at Downtown Lincoln Pawn Shop

LINCOLN, Nebraska — A downtown Lincoln pawn shop was burglarized early Friday morning following a dangerous incident where a suspect fired a shotgun at a nearby vehicle. The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is actively investigating the situation and searching for the armed suspect.

According to police reports, the incident began downtown when the suspect discharged a shotgun toward an occupied or unoccupied vehicle. Shortly after the gunfire, the suspect forced entry into a nearby pawn shop, stealing several items before fleeing the scene before officers arrived. Fortunately, no immediate injuries from the shotgun fire have been reported by authorities.

LPD officers secured the scene, collecting physical evidence and reviewing surveillance footage from downtown businesses. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or the burglary, or who has dashboard camera footage from the downtown area around the time of the incident, to contact the Lincoln Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
