A destructive street racing takeover in Long Beach ended with the ransacking of a local liquor store and the arrest of two individuals. The incident highlights the ongoing battle between local authorities and groups organizing large-scale, illegal street takeovers across the region.

Chaos at the Intersection

Late on August 26, 2025, a large group of street racers seized an intersection in Long Beach. Drivers spun cars in circles, doing donuts and drifting while hundreds of spectators blocked incoming traffic and cheered. The scene quickly devolved into disorder as crowds became hostile and destructive.

Liquor Store Target of Looting

During the takeover, a segment of the crowd turned their attention to a nearby liquor store. Suspects broke through the security doors and flooded the store, stealing high-value merchandise, alcohol, and cash. Employees inside were forced to retreat as the mob ransacked shelves and damaged property inside the building.

Arrests Made by Responding Officers

Long Beach police officers, arriving in force to disperse the takeover, were able to intercept and arrest two suspects connected to the looting and street racing. The suspects face charges including commercial burglary, participation in an illegal street takeover, and vandalism.
