Thieves Use Van as Battering Ram in Brazen South LA Check-Cashing Business Heist

LOS ANGELES, CA — A check-cashing business in South Los Angeles was heavily damaged early Monday morning after a group of thieves used a van as a battering ram to break through the storefront in a brazen ram-raid burglary.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 AM when the suspects drove a commercial van directly into the front glass facade and security gates of the business. The impact shattered the reinforced glass and collapsed the metal security gate, allowing the suspects immediate access to the interior of the building.

Once inside, the burglars focused their efforts on securing cash and other valuables.
