South L.A. Metro Store Looted Following Chaotic Street Takeover Event

A commercial burglary investigation is active in South Los Angeles after a Metro store was broken into and looted following a chaotic street takeover late Saturday night. The incident occurred near a major intersection where hundreds of spectators and stunt drivers had gathered to block traffic.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a large crowd gathered for the street takeover, creating a chaotic environment that overwhelmed local traffic control. As the event escalated, a subset of the crowd turned their attention to a nearby Metro retail store, breaking through the security shutters and front windows of the business.

Looters flooded into the store, stealing display phones, accessories, and other valuable electronics.
