LAPD Apprehends Two Suspects in Multi-Million Dollar LAX Computer and San Fernando Valley Cargo Thefts
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has arrested two individuals in connection with a major cargo theft ring responsible for stealing millions of dollars in electronic goods and commercial products. The arrests come after detectives successfully recovered $1.2 million in stolen commercial cargo hidden in the San Fernando Valley, alongside resolving a separate theft of $2.7 million in computers from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
According to LAPD cargo theft specialists, the operation targeting LAX involved the unauthorized diversion of high-value computer shipments destined for retail distribution. By coordinating with airport security and logistics providers, investigators traced the logistics path to the suspects. Simultaneously, a search warrant executed at a warehouse facility in the San Fernando Valley uncovered shipping containers filled with stolen retail merchandise valued at $1.2 million.
Both suspects face multiple felony charges, including grand theft, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy. Law enforcement officials emphasized that cargo theft has become an increasingly organized enterprise, impacting supply chains and consumer prices. Authorities are continuing to investigate whether these individuals are connected to a larger nationwide distribution network for stolen goods.
